What We Do

Rockford Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a non-profit, non-political organization of women in the Rockford, Illinois area.

Our goals are:

  • To preserve the memory and the spirit of our founding fathers.
  • To promote patriotism and historic awareness in our community
  • To foster an appreciation of our rights and responsibilities as citizens of The United States and to encourage our young people to share in these values.

Rockford Chapter activities include:

  • Promoting and participating in commemorative events, such as Veterans Day and Memorial Day Parades
  • Marking and preserving historic landmarks in our community, such as Tinker Swiss Cottage
  • Honoring outstanding leaders in our community
  • Sponsoring American History essay contests among elementary school students
  • Awarding of the DAR Good Citizen Award to area high school students for academic excellence, patriotic citizenship and leadership skills
  • Provide support for our local veterans
